Chandlers was established as a family business by Frederick Bertram Chandler in 1911.

Through the years the company has always been renowned for its high level of service and print quality.
Frederick Chandler, who had previously worked for Whitefriars Press in Tonbridge, Kent founded the business in Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex where it is still situated today.
His two sons Len & Ray were recruited to the business, hence the reason in the 1940's and 1950's the company was known as Chandler and Sons Limited.
During the Second World War many employees, understandably were called to serve their country, including both the Chandler brothers when Ray was a distinguished RAF fighter pilot.
By the 1960's the company had around 100 employees and at this time ceased to be run by the Chandler family. It was then owned by a succession of plc groups, before being bought by the management team in 1999 back into private ownership. Since March 2006 Chandlers have been part of the Gemini Print Group.
